After a little more than five years of ownership, Ann Wilson is moving straight on from her Northeast Florida estate resting along the shores of the St. Johns River. The nearly 12.5-acre spread, about 40 minutes away from the beachside city of St. Augustine in the suburban community of Palatka, is now on the market for $2 million.
The raven-haired lead singer and songwriter of the rock band Heart, which she co-founded with her younger guitarist and vocalist sister Nancy Wilson, acquired the property in spring 2019 for $885,000 and has since used it as a vacation home to “write new songs and create more music,” per the listing held by Jennifer Martin Faulker and Kim Martin-Fisher of Doulgas Elliman.
Nestled securely behind gates, off a quiet country lane, the property was originally built way back in the early 1900s and has seen its share of renovations and additions through the years. Included is a two-story main home and a fully renovated guesthouse, for a total of seven bedrooms and five baths in a little more than 6,000 square feet. There’s also a pathway leading down to a lengthy private dock resting alongside 510 feet of waterfront footage.
A portico entryway and double stained-glass doors lead into the three-bedroom, three-bath primary dwelling, which is highlighted by a spacious tiled living area, plus a wood-clad kitchen outfitted with a center island topped by a pot hanger, a butler’s pantry with a wine fridge, and a fireside breakfast room. Elsewhere is a bookshelf-lined library, an office nook, and a principal bedroom warmed by a wood-burning fireplace, as well as a spacious upstairs balcony and a lower-level lanai flanked by a screened infinity-edge pool and spa overlooking the river.
Rounding it all out is the aforementioned guesthouse, which spans roughly 2,400 square feet and has four bedrooms, two baths, a modern kitchen, a sunroom, and an elevator to the second level. Also holding court on the tree-laced grounds is a carport with room for up to four vehicles, along with an artisan well, an irrigation system, a pair of pump houses, an RV port, and a large workshop.

Born in San Diego and raised in Seattle, the 74-year-old singer recently finished chemotherapy treatments following a cancer diagnosis in July. She’s been ranked No. 78 on Hit Parader‘s 2006 list of “Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time” and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Heart in 2013. She and Nancy also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Grammys for their “creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”
Coming up in 2025: Look for Heart to go back out on tour to play concerts that had been rescheduled so Ann could take time to recuperate.
