In recent years, Sin City has become not just a place to gamble but a luxury lifestyle destination. There are award-winning golf courses, world-class restaurants, myriad wellness offerings, and family-friendly residential communities that offer the best of high-end living within a secured enclave. Not only are high-end branded residences entering the market—Four Seasons is launching high-rise condos—but big-name celebs are also betting on a more laid-back Las Vegas lifestyle.
The Summit Club was built by Discovery Land Company and is located in the master-planned Summerlin neighborhood of Las Vegas. Discovery Land Company was founded by Mike Meldman, who also, along with George Clooney and Rande Gerber, co-founded the Casamigos tequilla brand. The company is known for its ultra-luxe enclaves in sought-after locales, and among its more than 30 member-only luxury residential communities are the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana, and Baker’s Bay in the Bahamas, both known for their billionaire residents. Eric Schmidt, Bill Gates, and Peter Chernin are all rumored to be members of or own property at one or more of these destinations, as are Tom Brady, Justin Timberlake, and Reese Witherspoon.
The Summit Club isn’t an exception in its allure with business moguls and show business movers and shakers. Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis is building a one-of-a-kind home, and though Celine Dion recently sold her $30 million estate, Mark Walhberg has moved into the exclusive community. If you want in on the action, consider Fete, a $23.5 million eye-catcher designed by Blue Heron’s BH Elite division. Set on over an acre of land, the 9,820-square-foot mansion has a total of nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The boundary-defying home features a custom modern exterior with a curved facade and an indoor-outdoor floor plan that seamlessly integrates the clean-lined interiors with the lush golf course and the bone-dry desert landscape.
The great room features a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace overcounted by a flat-screen TV and connects to the outdoors with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that vanish into the walls. The nearby chef’s kitchen features custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, and an eat-in island. Just off the kitchen, a large dining space features a temperature-controlled wine display room behind a wall of clear glass.
The entire level unfolds into impressive outdoor entertainment spaces that incorporate two zero-edge pools—one partially covered by the curvilinear roof overhang—an outdoor kitchen, a swimming pool with a swim-up bar, and a spa. There are covered daybeds by the pool, from which there are views of the golf course, surrounding mountains, and, in the distance, The Strip, as well as a built-in ground-level trampoline.
The main residence has four bedrooms, including a primary suite with a sitting room and a living green wall, a children’s playroom, and a rooftop deck. An attached guest casita contains an additional five bedrooms plus a six-car garage.
The Summit Club, like all of Discovery Land Company’s communities, has a strong focus on golf. There’s an 18-hole golf course designed by world-renowned architect Tom Fazio; 70,000 square feet of amenity space, including a fine dining restaurant, pool, and lounges; and a comprehensive outdoor pursuits program for families. Summit Club has 260 residences, including bungalows, golf cottages, and homesites for custom homes.
